In addition to controlling the gas flow rate, the Dual Flow Meter is particularly suitable varying* the O2 concentrations when creating hypoxic culture conditions or where special pre-mixed gases are expensive or unavailable.
*Example 1: To obtain the gas concentrations of 2% O2, 5% CO2 and 93% N2 you will need to obtain 2 bottles of gases. One tank will be 5% CO2 & 95% O2, while the second tank should contain 5% CO2 & 95% N2. Attach the two tanks to our Dual Flow Meter (DFM 3002) and connect the Gas Mixing System monitor to the exit tube of the DFM 3002 (95% N2 tank attach to 50 LPM flow meter and the 95% O2 tank attach to the smaller flow meter 0.2-2.5LPM). By adjusting the flow rates with the DFM 3002 while monitoring the oxygen percent with the GMS 5002, you can accurately create a low oxygen mix of 2% O2, 5% CO2.
*Example 2: To obtain the gas concentrations of 5% O2, 5% CO2 and 90% N2 you will need to obtain 2 bottles of gases. One tank will be 5% CO2 & 95% O2, while the second tank should contain 5% CO2 & 95% N2. Attach the two tanks to our Dual Flow Meter (DFM 3002) and connect the Gas Mixing System monitor to the exit tube of the DFM 3002 (95% N2 tank attach to 50 LPM flow meter and the 95% O2 tank attach to the smaller flow meter 0.2-2.5LPM). . By adjusting the flow rates from the two tanks into the DFM 3002 while monitoring the oxygen percent with the GMS 5002, you can accurately create a low oxygen mix of 5% O2, 5% CO2 and 90% N2.
The DFM-3002 ships with 2 air filters. Order extras below if your gas is “dirty” or your flow rate suddenly decreases.
